Instructions
Apologies for these instructions being a little short, but it's still a beta project so you'll just have to fiddle. I'm quite happy to help unless it's
obviously a server specific problem, so just email me.
There are 2 situations:
- You put your PHP files in with your HTML and images (easiest method)
- Run the install/index.php script (going to http://yoursite.com/install/ should work fine).
- Remove the install/ directory and you're ready to go.
- If there are problems then you'll have to edit the config.php script manually, or upload the install script TO THE SAME PLACE and try again.
- You have to put your PHP files in the cgi-bin
- This is how my server's set up; it requires me to chmod 750 all php files, and chmod 755 all directories.
- Remember that you need to put the smilies and templates (all non-executable code) etc. in a different directory (usually named htdocs).
- Run the install/index.php script (going to http://yoursite.com/install/ should work fine).
- Bear in mind that if the internal filesystem is different from the external one, you might have problems - this can be accomodated for in the
config.php (or via the install script if you already know what you're doing). I can't give detailed problem solving because conditions are
different on every server.
- Remove the install/ directory and you're ready to go.
